Captions, voice and music that hold attention

Course 1 · lesson 3 of 54 min

Fine-tune a short on the Style step: language, length, captions, voice, music, hook and headline.

Step by step

  1. 1Language: choose one of 9 for the voiceover and captions.
  2. 2Length: 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60 seconds. The template's own length is marked with a dot.
  3. 3Captions: 10 styles, from CapCut Green to One Word Punch. Big, bright captions keep people watching with the sound off.
  4. 4Voice: Best match picks a voice that suits the story. Or filter by Female or Male and press play to hear a voice first.
  5. 5Music: Auto picks a track for the mood, or choose the mood yourself. You can also use your own tracks or turn music off.
  6. 6Extras: the hook grabs the first seconds, and the headline card names the story. Write your own headline (up to 120 characters) or let the AI write it.
  7. 7Advanced: say if the source is already vertical, choose the crop and where your logo goes.

Tips

  • Watch the originality meter while you change settings. A voiceover, captions and a headline count the most.
  • Most templates use 30 to 40 seconds. Start there and test shorter or longer later.
  • Save your favourite captions, voice, language and music mood in the Brand Kit, so every new video starts with them.

On the style step you decide how your short looks and sounds.

Choose the language of the voice and captions. There are nine.

Pick a length, from fifteen to sixty seconds.

Choose a caption style. Big, bright captions keep people watching even with the sound off.

Pick a voice, or leave Best match. Press play to hear a voice before you choose.

Music can follow the mood automatically, or you can use your own tracks.

Turn on the hook and the headline. They make people stop scrolling, and they raise your originality score.
